FPT: Freestyle in Podersdorf
A clear victory for Lisa Kloster
The FPT freestylers were guests at Lake Neusiedl in Austria from June 3 to 7. On the flat inland waters, the competition was for the event victory and points in the FPT series, where the overall tour champions will be crowned at the end of the year.
Wind conditions were mixed throughout the event. In the men’s competition, only the open division results could be determined. The top four finishers from the open division would have advanced to the event’s pro division. The FPT chose this format to offer as many beginners as possible a direct path to advancement.
Here, Max Matissek celebrated the victory of Max Brinnich and Michael Czech.
The professional division’s competition was able to start but could not be completed. The light winds threw a wrench in the FPT’s plans. However, the pros showed what they were capable of during the tow-in sessions. Lennart Neubauer landed a Double Air Funnel Burner.
For the women, the smaller number of competitors proved to be an advantage in these wind conditions. Here, Lisa Kloster secured a clear victory. Lisa won every head-to-head match by a margin of more than seven points. Ziva Batis secured second place after defeating Melina Schutt in one of the most exciting heats of the event
