Backloop - one-handed
A one-handed backloop by Flo Jung
This riding technique video shows the one-handed backloop in slow motion for both jump directions (port and starboard tack).
To perform a one-handed backloop, you must be hooked into the harness when you take off. This feels unusual at first, because the harness lines usually slide down out of the hooks on their own when you pull the boom closer to your body. So make sure to keep the harness taut and take off less forcefully.
As soon as you leave the wave lip (while still hooked in), you can take your front hand off the boom and extend it downward.
Flo does this all the way to the apex of the jump, looking toward the landing zone. Put your hand back on the boom and land like a normal backloop.
