Obrigada Guriu
The mouth of the Guriu River is located about 10 kilometers west of Jericoacoara. Sarah-Quita Offringa set out on a kite downwinder there and then went windsurfing.
The spot, with its choppy waves and current, made freestyle training difficult, but Sarah-Quita rose to the challenge: "I always have a goal in mind when I go for a freestyle session, and sometimes it works out, and sometimes you need to adapt. Other times you get carried away with other moves. The tide was coming up and because of that there was a lot of current pushing upwind, which did something weird to my board when I tried to go for skopus. And it made it harder to generate enough speed for double culo tries on starboard tack. And then out of the blue I tried some spock konos which I hadn’t tried for years and got further than expected! I should have probably been on my 4,0 but all in all I had a really fun session!"
