The first Parawing World Cup
The first Parawing World Cup took place in Leucate at the end of April. In this foil discipline, the goal is typically to ride against the wind using a parawing, then stow it away compactly, and finally launch into downwind rides on swell waves for as long as possible.
The Surf Foil World Tour (SFT) has now experimented with parawinging as a competition format in various forms. Let’s hope that this sport doesn’t get lost in course racing disciplines and that equipment doesn’t evolve in the wrong direction, but rather that competition formats will also stay true to the sport’s roots.
